JAMB cut-off mark 2022

Every year, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, brings out specified cut-off marks for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The specified JAMB cut-off marks must be adhered to by universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education when giving admission to students, meaning schools are only allowed to give admission to students who scored exactly the specified mark or above.

This year, 2022, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the cut-off mark for admissions into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The JAMB cut-off mark was announced in a policy meeting led by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, in Abuja. In a speech, JAMB's Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who announced the JAMB cut-off mark for 2022 admission, revealed that the minimum score for JAMB cut-off marks in 2022 is 140 for universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education.

Though the board revealed the JAMB cut-off marks for 2022 admission, Adamu also clarified that they are flexible, as institutions are allowed to set their cut-off marks as long as they do not fall below the JAMB cut-off marks.

The 2022 JAMB cut-off marks were announced after votes by universities' vice-chancellors, rectors of polytechnics, and provosts of colleges of education in Nigeria.

The JAMB cut-off marks, according to Oloyede, were structured based on students' performances in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the JAMB Registrar, only 378,639 students out of 1,761,338 who took the JAMB examination scored 200 and above, while 520,596 scored 190, 704,991 scored 180, and above, 934,103 scored 170 and above, 1,192,057 scored 160 and above.

Having known the JAMB cut-off mark for 2022 admission, we have also prepared for all students the list of universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education that accept 170 to 160 cut-off marks, 180 cut-off marks, and 150 cut-off marks.
