Davido's "A Good Time" becomes the most-streamed African album ever
"A Good Time" album released by Nigerian famous musician Davido in 2019, has become the most-streamed album in Africa.
The album, released on November 22, 2019, through Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), RCA Records, and Sony Music, is Davido's second studio album after Omo Baba Olowo.
It is just some months after the release of the album, and it has recorded over 1 billion streams worldwide, with people around the world going crazy about the music in the album.
The streams were confirmed by the American record label "Columbia Records UK", owned by Sony Music Entertainment, with whom Davido is contracted.
Posting on Twitter, Columbia Records UK said: "HUGE congrats to @davido - 'A Good Time' has officially reached OVER 1 BILLION streams!
The A Good Time album featured many famous Nigerian musicians and other musicians outside the country, including Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Dremo, Peruzzi, Popcaan, Zlatan, Yonda, Wurld, and Naira Marley.
Also, the album was produced by different music producers, with Speroach Beatz, Tekno, Shizzi, Kiddominant, P2J, London on da Track, Fresh VDM, Seyi, Teekay Witty, Ray Keys, and Vstix all among them.
The album was supposed to have a North American tour show from the beginning of the winter and end in spring 2020, but Davido later postponed it in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The over 1 billion streams are good news for Davido. His album gives him an edge over other music albums in Africa.
"A Good Time" is the first album Davido released under Sony Music after signing a massive contract with the record label.
